Read Matthew 6: 16-34
God created the body idea as a self-perpetuating, self-renewing organism, which we reconstruct into our personal body. God creates the body idea, and we, by our thinking, manifest.
I realize that I shall have a perfect body and a perfect world when I understand and use the perfect word that contains all the attributes of God. Therefore, I declare that my words are being charged with a full understanding of Divine Mind and its inhering ideas. I consciously apply this understanding in all of my feeling, thinking, speaking, and living, and am therefore steadily putting on the Christ in mind and body. Overcoming step by step the limitations of material thought, my body becomes more refined and increasingly radiant.
The Law provides that my body is transformed as I renew my mind. By affirmation, the mind lays hold of living words of Truth and builds them into the body. As I enter into and abide in the Christ consciousness, I have eternal life, and my body is transformed as it manifests the perfection of Spirit.
To bless is to invoke good on that which is blessed. It is to confer God's good on something or someone. Therefore, I bless my body temple and declare its purity and strength and beauty. I pour out upon my body temple the oil of love and clothe it in garments of praise.
Realizing that the body of Christ in me is the result of my spiritual thought that maintains its unity with Spirit, I affirm:
"The Word of God in me quickens my mind, and my body is transformed into the likeness of His glorious body."
TRANSCRIBER'S REFLECTION: In this passage, Fillmore invites me to contemplate my individual body as the manifestation of how my individual thought patterns have modified God's creative idea (the Body). Previously, I've always regarded the body as kind of a random fact: I'm on earth, therefore I have a body, and I got this one for some unknown reason and have to live with it. This passage proposes a radically different paradigm. This body was created as a manifestation of the universe's design, and when I bless it, wish it good and care for it, and when I keep returning my mind to awareness of universal good, I shape my body's evolving way of experiencing and manifesting life. So my body itself shines forth into the world the blessings of divine abundance and love -- or not -- based on my thoughts over time and how well they align with Universal Divine Energy.
This business of being "spirit having a human experience" gets more fascinating all the time! At this point, I'm learning that the way I have this human experience is important, not just the fact of having it. Humanity as I presence it expresses Spirit in the world to the extent that I have focused my attention on Spirit and deepened my awareness of Spirit's loving essence. My body is a blessing, and in blessing it, I extend blessings to others who perceive Spirit's abundant love through me.
