The Robin's Story Tags: being of service realizing our full potential

Last Sunday I told the following story...

'Tell me the weight of a snowflake,' a robin asked a wild dove.

'Nothing more than nothing,' was the answer.

'In that case, I must tell you a marvelous story,' the robin said. 'I sat on the branch of a fir, close to its trunk, when it began to snow - not heavily, not in a raging blizzard, no, just like in a dream, without any violence. Since I didn't have anything better to do, I counted the snowflakes settling on the twigs and needles of my branch. The number was exactly 3,741,952. When the next snowflake dropped onto the branch - nothing more than nothing, as you would say - the branch broke off.' Having said that, the robin flew away. The dove, since Noah's time an authority on the matter, thought about the story for awhile and finally said to herself: 'Perhaps there is only one person's voice lacking for peace to come about in the world.'

Maybe that voice is yours…and yours is the tipping point!

And more than our voices or our actions, it’s who we are being.  Who are we being?  Are we expressing our essential nature or just trying to get through our busy day?  Are we expressing love and compassion as we go about our day, or are we ruminating about past mistakes or someone else’s mistakes?  Are we thinking about all the things we need to get done, or are we being in the present moment?

Sunday was our White Stone ceremony where we meditated on a word or phrase that has significance for us as we begin this new year.  A word that is for us an overall intention…a way of being in the world…something to grow into…something that allows something larger to express through us.

May your White Stone be the snowflake…the voice of spiritual truth…that turns it all around for you…and for the world this year!
