How to Leave a Lasting Legacy to Unity Center of Peace

The Heart of Legacy Giving
Every prayer you’ve spoken, every song you’ve sung, every kindness you’ve shared here at Unity Center of Peace has helped shape this spiritual home. Legacy giving is the next step in that love story – a way for you to continue nurturing us Unity movement and the generations who will come after us.

When you include Unity Center of Peace in your estate plans, you’re helping ensure that the light of the Unity message of oneness, peace, and spiritual awakening keeps shining brightly throughout our community and well beyond.

There are many simple and meaningful ways to create a legacy gift – each one carrying forward the Unity teachings that have shaped and sustained you. While Legacy Giving can be generous, it is not reserved for the wealthy. In fact, many of our cherished legacy donors are long-time members with modest means
and deeply generous hearts.

Create a Lasting Legacy
Support Unity Center of Peace’s future in three ways:
1. Will or trust: With an attorney’s help, leave a specific amount, a percentage of your estate, or what remains after other distributions.

 2. Retirement account: Name Unity Center of Peace as a beneficiary of your IRA, 401(k), 403(b), or pension through your plan custodian.

3.Donor-advised fund: Recommend gifts during your lifetime and pass the tradition of giving on to your children.

Make a Tax-Free Gift from your IRA
If you’re 70 ½ years or older, you can make a gift directly from your IRA to
Unity Center of Peace through a Qualified Charitable Distribution. It’s tax- free, lowers your adjusted gross income, and if you’re 73 or older, can count toward your required minimum distribution. You can set up your “conscious sustainer gift” in this way.

Donate Appreciated Securities
Gift stocks and bonds that have grown in value for a smart, tax-effective way to help sustain the vision and vitality of Unity Center of Peace Name Us as a Beneficiary of Your Life Insurance
A life insurance policy you no longer need for its original purpose can become a lasting gift to Unity Center of Peace simply by updating your beneficiary designation.

Transfer Property Through a Transfer-on-Death Deed
Also known as a beneficiary deed in some states, a TOD Deed allows homeowners to designate who will inherit their property, passing it directly to them outside of probate.

The Enduring Impact of Your Gift – the Story Continues
Your legacy gift is a way of loving Unity Center of Peace into its future, and helps ensure that we continue to offer Sunday Services that encourage, nourish and inspire, celebrate the cycles of nature with our Outdoor Sacred Spaces, nurture youth and families, take care of each other, sustain our prayer ministry, and make
an impact in our larger community.
