Many cultures all over the world observe some sort of tradition for remembering loved ones who have passed, and communicating our love for them in some way. Mexico celebrates El Día de Los Muertos, Gaelic cultures observe Samhain, Catholics observe All Saints Day. It's a human need we all have to reconnect with those we've lost by keeping their memory alive. And it's important that we do. This Sunday you'll have an opportunity to remember your loved one who has passed, or someone who has made a positive impact on your life, in a new ritual we are starting at UCP: Honoring our Ancestors. You are invited to bring a photo of your loved one, and place it on our altar. You may also share with us the biggest thing this person gave you, or taught you, that is still with you today. Please limit your photos to two so that everyone who wants to share has a chance to.
