Blessing of the Animals

Animals have a way of reminding us of what matters most: Be present. Love generously. Find joy in the simple things. Rest when you need to. And don’t take life too seriously!

In the spirit of the Feast of St. Francis, we will celebrate the sacred bond we share with the animals in our lives. In Unity, we recognize the Divine Presence in all life—and our beloved animals often become cherished companions, teachers, comforters, and healers.

You are invited to bring a photo of your beloved animal companion—framed if possible—and place it on our altar. During the service, Rev. Victoria will offer a blessing for the animals we love, both those who are with us and those who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

If you have a meaningful story about how an animal has touched your life, brought healing, opened your heart, or offered you a spiritual insight, you are invited to share it with our community.

Following the service, we will gather in our Outdoor Sacred Space to create a special place of remembrance for animals we have loved and lost. We’ll paint our new little garden bridge in rainbow colors and add stones to the sacred ground, each bearing the name of a beloved animal companion.
