Ode to Liberty and Democracy for Us

While twentysome people gathered via Zoom and physically with proper distancing, little did we know that we would unearth gems while holding the U.S. election process in affirmative prayer. Many shared powerful intentions and prayers of respect, equality, civility and more while collectively generating the energy to sustain these. One that stood out and set the tone is Katja Sage's invocation to start this event. Such is its poignancy and clarity that we just had to share it with you. It is worth reading Ode to Lady Liberty multiple times. It starts with quoting the The New Colussus by Emma Lazarus which is inscribed at Lady Liberty's feet in New York Harbor.

Blessing of the Animals

On Sunday, July 22, 2018, our furry/ feathered / scaled / other species family members were welcomed in spirit into the Sunday service. Some of the well-behaved furry ones made personal appearances. Others were represented with folders. At the end of the service, Rev. Victoria and Rev. Rosemary blessed many of the "extended" family.

Wow, what a picnic!

Dawn broke with the gentlest of summer temperatures and humidity - just enough heat to make it a pleasure to dip into Jordan Lake. Families and friends laughed, shared stories and enjoyed each others' company at UCP's 4th Annual Picnic at Parker's Point on Jordan Lake on Saturday, July 14, 2018.
