For two weeks Eric Goldman was immersed in the cultural and devotional life of South India. He was bopped on the head by an elephant, and had an extended private lunch with a wild monkey. With 9 others he visited 20 different Temples, participating in sweet pujas (rituals); seeing God face to face in countless forms. They ate amazing Indian food everyday with their bare right hands. For hours they traveled down two lane roads without stop signs or traffic lights; avoiding on coming vehicles, people, mopeds, motorcycles, cows, dogs and goats!Nearly everything he experienced was totally different than anything he had known or experienced (living in the US his whole life). This was a journey he’d longed for for 30 years. It’s challenged and changed his perspective deeply, and has opened him up to deeper spiritual and some very practical realities. He was disgusted, shocked, amazed, uncomfortable, elated, elevated and moved to tears. It was a tremendous trial and an abundantly joyful journey that continues working in him today.
Come join Eric for short Kirtan (devotional chanting) and a few stories. This is an informal gathering inspired by the many inquiries he has received to hear more of this pilgrimage. He is grateful for the experience and is looking forward to sharing this satsang (a spiritual, sacred gathering) with you. By donation, no one turned away for lack of funds.
