Buddhist Dances of Universal Peace

Sun, May 31 2026 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm

You are warmly invited to join us for a special gathering of the Dances of Universal Peace, where people come together in sacred dance, song, and story. Through simple melodies and gentle movements, these dances awaken the spiritual essence within and nurture a sense of unity and peace. Newcomers are warmly welcomed—no experience or special abilities are needed.

Join us on Sunday, May 31 at 1:30 pm for an hour of Buddhist-themed Dances of Universal Peace, following the annual UCP Buddha Day (Wesak) observance at 12:30 pm in the Outdoor Sacred Spaces. Mark and Katja will guide simple chants drawn from several Buddhist traditions, paired with gentle meditative dances and body prayers, accompanied by live music.

As Buddhists around the world honor Wesak (Buddha Day) around the full moon in May—celebrating the birth, enlightenment, and passing of the Buddha—our dances will reflect these themes, offering a joyful and contemplative way to celebrate together.

All are welcome to join this circle of movement, music, and shared intention.
