Connected in Love: Engaging Citizenry
Monday evening we gathered together in a powerful group Intention Circle and held the whole election process in our hearts...
Rev. Victoria guided us in an intention meditation holding the vision that this election be fair, honest and positive. We visualized people coming to the polls to vote for this mid-term election in record numbers. We visualized it first for our local community, then for the entire state of N. Carolina, and then for the whole United States. We also held in our intention that people vote from their hearts, not their fear.
The powerful effect of group intention has been well documented by many researches including Lynn McTaggert, who has written about it in several of her books, including, The Power of Eight. Unity Center of Peace currently has two Power of Eight groups meeting on a weekly basis.
After the Group Intention Meditation we were invited to write a prayer for this election, and/or for our country, on a heart-shaped note card and place it into the "voting box." Beautiful music was provided by Mark Smith, Marilyn Grubbs and Katja Sage. Katja and Lorraine created the beautiful, sacred space in which the service was held.
