Wesak Buddha Day Celebration
Wesak celebrates the birth, enlightenment, and death of Gautama Buddha. We will join them, right after the service on Sunday May 31, from 12:30 to 1:30 pm, with an informal Buddha blessing/washing ceremony. The Buddha reminds us that true peace comes when we transform our own anger into compassion, and purify our body, speech and mind. We will have cloth prayer flags; available on which to write your own intentions and offer them for release on the elements at the Buddha statue on our Serenity Trail. Come bring your prayers, hopes and dreams!
Also, feel free to bring your own home Buddhas or other items for the altar, for washing and praying-up!! We'll provide pens, flags, and music. Comfortable footwear encouraged. Led by Mark Smith and Katja Sage.
Then, join us afterwards for a special Buddhist Dances of Universal Peace with Mark and Katja!
